Lambeth Demountables is a collaboration between Meanwhile Space CIC and architects IF_DO. The project consits of a series of feasibility studies around Lambeth to determine which vacant sites (both council and privately owned) would be most suitable for new demountable buildings, and which would deliver the most social and economic benefit. Market demand analysis ensured that selected sites were in locations with a clear need, and are therefore viable and capable of delivering social value.
The outcome of this project enables applications for funding to realise new workspace on a number of the sites identified. Buildings should be demountable and subsequently relocated to other sites within Lambeth, dependent on the redevelopment plans and timelines for the selected sites.
